Cadno - Part OneThe rain, rolling from the top of the clouds, fell to the earth in silvery sheets, hissing as it splattered against the pavements.  For the third time, a spray of dirty, murky water fit for a farmyard lane rushed up to meet me as a huge van rumbled past, and for the third time I reminded myself that I couldn’t wait to get off the main road and onto the forest path that would lead me home, where there probably wouldn’t be so many annoyances.  I could see the turning into the woods only yards down the road, so I picked up my pace until my feet were reduced to mere blurs as I walked.

Writer's CrescentI took a walk yesterday; not to anywhere particular.  Just a casual stroll through the woods, where the air was silent - as if the bird’s had lost their voices and the river refused to tell the trees’ its babbling stories anymore.  Even the usual sound of leaves brushing against each other, whispering, had completely vanished.  There was nothing to suggest that there was any life left on the planet apart from me.

Know thy neighbour - Part OneI had never been one for walks in the rain, but today it had caught me off guard.  The walk home from my friend’s house wasn’t necessarily a very long one, but needless to say, I was drenched within twenty seconds of leaving the doorstep.  It fell in great, belting sheets, as if the ocean and the skies had switched places and the sea was now gently unleashing itself over the earth.  My hair, usually spiked and ruffled – ‘shag hair’, as my friends called it – was reduced to a soaked clump that glued to my forehead; it reminded me of seaweed at the beach, clinging to the rocks as the s Know thy neighbour - Part One

You know you're a writer when...

...you lose sleep over a story!

Seriously, I haven't much for the past week or so because of all the things I've been writing and all the ideas that are constantly bouncing around in my head. It's a serious project I'm working on though so I haven't (and won't, I'm sorry to say) put it up on DA, it's my personal novel =) Which is veeery exciting, I'm starting to understand what other writers mean when they say that they get obsessed with their book.

Last night, however, was the best night's sleep I've had for a while now - I had a night off and went back to James's house for the first time ever. He lives quite a way away on a small-holding with lots of land and ponds and sheep. It was amazing... I absolutely loved it, was a really beautiful place.

Anyways, I'll probably go back to doing some more writing tonight. Don't know when I'll submit anything here next, I'll try and write some short stories soon.

But until then, I guess I won't be posting anything =( I'll keep you all updated via journal though!
